Leah Toney, Ph.D.
Ed Rieker
Ed is a life-long entrepreneur, investor, inventor and community builder.
His accomplishments include:
- Founder or co-founder of four healthcare software companies. Successful exits for three, two were acquired by public companies, one by investors and the fourth is still running.
- Former research facility member at The Georgia Institute of Technology as a Venture Catalyst at ATDC between startups
- Owned and operated a private coworking and technology incubator
- Angel investor – various startups
- Awarded patent #5,832,447 for an Automated System and Method for Providing Real-Time Verification of Health Insurance Eligibility (co-inventor)
- Owner and developer of Tudor Square, a community-oriented, quality, dining, shopping and entertainment venue, supporting small independent business owners in downtown Avondale Estates, GA (Sold to investors in 2021)
- CEO of the Avondale Innovation District™, located in downtown Avondale Estates, a place-based urban development designed specifically to support entrepreneurs and creative professionals, foster open innovation, attract and accelerate new business ventures
- Long-standing member of the National Business Incubation Association (NBIA) and holds an Entrepreneurship Center Management Certificate, the premier industry credential for the staff of incubators, accelerators, coworking spaces, small business development centers, and other entrepreneurship programs.
As a long-time member of the Atlanta startup community, he has had the pleasure of serving the community in many different capacities. He regularly participates as a Mentor/coach/teacher in several programs offered by local incubators, accelerators and university business school programs. He is also the former Mayor of the City of Avondale Estates.
Reamonn Soto
Reamonn is a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran and Founder, CEO of Sensatek Propulsion Technology, Inc. Sensatek is a venture capital backed company that is positioned to be a market leader in asset health monitoring of harsh environments. Recently named Entrepreneur of the Year by University of Central Florida’s Business Incubator, Reamonn holds a Bachelors in Physics from Florida A & M University and a Masters of Science in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He received hands-on training in scientific research in the field of astrophysics and condensed matter physics at the Center for Plasma Science and Technology and U.S. Department of Energy’s Brookhaven National Laboratory.
Prior to founding Sensatek, he was the owner of Gruntz Automotive Repair, LLC specializing in Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, and BMW high end vehicles for used car dealers in Northwest Florida. Subsequently, he served as a Certified Business Analyst and Economic Development Finance Professional with the Florida SBDC, where he assisted over 200 clients in creating 68 new businesses, that raised over $9.6 million in capital, and generated more than $79 million in sales and government contracts. Furthermore, he served as a business consultant with the Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship at Florida State University, having instructed over 120 CEO’s during the Small Business Executive Program (SBEP) on business model development. Reamonn serves on the Advisory Board of Stetson University’s Disruptive Innovation Certificate Program.
